Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological condition that affects 5-8% of the population.  In most cases it is inherited and can run in some families more than others.  It affects children, teenagers, and adults of all ages.  It affects people from all races and cultural backgrounds.  Some common symptoms include:

  • difficulty paying attention; easily and excessively distracted and restless; fidgety
  • excessively impulsive, saying and doing things without forethought; blurting
  • chronic procrastination, even when the activity is extremely important to the person
  • difficulty starting projects, or completing them; Many projects going on at once.
  • complete hyperfocus on a task, to the exclusion of all else
  • frequently misplacing or losing things; often getting lost
  • difficulty managing time; poor sense of how long things take; often rushing, feeling pressured and late.
  • difficulty organizing space,  frequently messy and cluttered environments
  • Excessive forgetfulness

These are just some of the symptoms and not everyone with a diagnosis of ADHD has all of them or has them to various degrees.  It is essential that anyone who exhibits some or all of these traits and feels his or her life is seriously impaired by them, should see a clinician for a professional evaluation and diagnosis.  After a diagnosis, there is a lot of support for people who have ADHD and ADHD-like traits.  Support includes psychotherapy, medications, education,  support networks, and coaching.

This site will offer numerous helpful resources that support people with ADHD and those who live, love, and work with them.

This site is new and evolving.  Please check in often as we grow together.

ADD Coaching

What is ADD Coaching?

ADD Coaching expands and deepens the experience of coaching by honoring you and your ADD by recognizing the gifts you bring to life; and by celebrating the ingenious methods you have created to navigate this chaotic world.

ADD Coaching helps you pay attention to what you want to pay attention to by introducing ways to cope with distractions, impulsiveness, mental ‘disappearances’ and over-focusing. We look at your goals, dreams and intentions; identify what specifically is holding you back; and create a plan for navigating toward your ideal life.

As your ADD Coach, I bring creative tools, processes and structures designed to help you focus your energy and your mind so that your hours and days are filled with the activities that are most important to you. I believe that you are creative, healthy, whole and resourceful and from that belief support you as you build your greatest life.
